Is Dress Code a Necessity?

Dress Code in Tamil Nadu The answer to that question depends entirely on the dress that one wears. A few people find women wearing jeans and t shirt as provocative, while some call them ultra-modern. Somehow I can’t understand how much more a woman should cover herself up. What on earth could possibly go wrong when a boy wears a t shirt to college? Does the T shirt cause any hindrance to his studies? Are his grades in direct relation to the T shirt he wears? Character and values are not reflected by one’s attire, but by their attitude and behaviour. More than 60 years of independence and a student does not have the freedom to wear his/ her choice of clothes. I’m really beginning to doubt the meaning of the word “independence”. Will the dress code instill moral values in the students? I don’t know what moral values a dress code will teach us.
